Madeline Lia Duncan graduated from the University of Tulsa College of Law in 1979 and was ranked first in her class. After moving to Colorado in 1980, she worked for an oil & gas firm for a year and a half, a general practice firm, and then was in-house counsel to a manufacturing firm specializing in herbal products. Since 1989, she has had a solo practice primarily emphasizing collections, both for creditors and debtors, representing homeowner associations both in the area of collections, covenant enforcement and general legal work, and a general overall practice involving real estate, contracts and business law. She also has developed a practice representing animals, notably dogs, who have been accused of being either vicious, aggressive or dangerous. While not a large part of her practice, it is certainly one of her passions.
